Joel Moore, a Bethal Christian High School student, has launched his hobby after winning the SEED Center SWLA Business Pitch Competition, High School Division. The competition, known for propelling aspiring entrepreneurs into the business world, provided Joel with the opportunity to turn his passion for shoe customization into a thriving business.
The seeds of Joel’s venture were planted when he started customizing his own shoes. The unique designs and personalized touch caught the attention of friends and family, who soon began requesting his creative flair for their footwear. What began as a personal hobby transformed into a business idea that Joel presented at the SEED Center competition.
Essentially, Joel’s business model is simple yet ingenious – bring him a white sneaker, and he can turn it into a personalized work of art. His craftsmanship and attention to detail have garnered attention primarily through word of mouth, a testament to the quality and creativity he injects into each pair.
Winning the SEED Center competition provided Joel with the financial boost he needed to take his business to the next level. The $5,000 prize allowed him to invest in high-quality equipment and supplies, elevating the overall quality of his work and increasing efficiency in the customization process.
Joel’s entrepreneurial spirit doesn’t stop with shoe customization. He envisions himself owning multiple businesses in the future, with a particular dream of designing shoes for NBA players, especially his favorite, Jayson Tatum. “My dream is to see my designs on the court, making an impact in the world of sports,” Joel enthusiastically shares.
For Joel, the joy of his business lies not just in the financial success but in the creative process itself. “I really enjoy getting creative and bringing someone’s vision to life through custom shoes,” he says. Each pair becomes a canvas for artistic expression, allowing him to connect with his customers on a personal level.
Joel Moore’s story is a testament to the power of combining passion with entrepreneurship. From a high school student with a knack for customization to a budding business owner, Joel’s journey showcases the potential that young, creative minds can unleash when given the right platform. As Joel continues to leave his mark on the local fashion scene, one customized pair of sneakers at a time, the community eagerly anticipates where his entrepreneurial spirit will take him next.
