CELEBRATING THE ARTS: The 49th Season of the Louisiana Choral Foundation

The Louisiana Choral Foundation’s 2026–2027 season titled Choral Treasures: Old and New offers a captivating journey through beloved masterworks and inspiring contemporary compositions.

The season opens with Music of the People on Friday, October 9, at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, October 11, at 3:00 p.m., at University United Methodist Church in Lake Charles. From the rich harmonies of Lloyd Pfautsch and Mozart’s Missa Brevis in F major to the moving messages of Randal Stroope’s Where the Earth Meets the Sky, the program celebrates the shared experiences that unite us. The concert concludes with an unforgettable medley from the Broadway masterpiece Les Misérables.

Celebrate the joy of the holidays with Love and Joy, Come to You, presented on Friday, December 11, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Luke-Simpson United Methodist Church in Lake Charles and Sunday, December 13, at 3:00 p.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur. Featuring Vivaldi’s radiant Gloria, Christmas Joy by Reginald Unterseher, and performances by Les Petites Voix and the Bayou Bell Choir, these cherished concerts conclude with a stirring presentation of O Holy Night featuring all participating ensembles.

The season closes with Creation on Friday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 25 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Lake Charles. Dan Forrest’s breathtaking oratorio Creation is a vibrant musical celebration of the beauty and wonder of the natural world, performed with chamber ensemble, soprano and baritone soloists, and the full Masterworks Chorale.
